Applegate Fire District #9 Reports the Following:

NOTICE OF A BLM PLANNED BURN FOR NOV> 8th

BLM has planned a 115 acre controlled burn in the Thompson Creek / Panther Gulch area for Thursday Nov. 8th, 2007. Applegate Residents may notice smoke in the valley.

FIRE SEASON ENDS

The Oregon Department of Forestry has declared an end to the 2007 fire season as of Oct. 1, 2007. ll public-use restrictions and fire season-related closures on industrial operations are removed as of Oct. 1st also.
As of Oct. 1, 2007, Debris pile and barrel burning is now allowed. However, open burning is regulated for air quality in all of Jackson County. Before starting to burn, call the open burning advisory for your county; Jackson County, 776-7007 Josephine County, 476-9663

Burns reported on this page are compiled from two sources.  Applegate Fire Dist. 9 provides a report of burns on federal lands as reported by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in the Applegate Valley area. This is taken from the daily Medford Tanker Base report.   The state's Smoke Management Office report of burns on private, county, and state lands will also appear on days when this office issues a report of burns planned on these lands.
