Parents who have children entering kindergarten for the 2004-05 school year in the Three Rivers School District may register their students during the months of May and June. Students entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1, 2004.If you wish to apply for early entrance to kindergarten, your child’s fifth birthday must fall between September 2 and November 15, 2004.
Applications for early entrance to kindergarten may be obtained by contracting the district office. Our school district has set very stringent standards for early entrance. A child will only be considered a candidate for early entry into kindergarten if they perform at the 90th percentile or higher on the district cognitive assessment. If a cognitive score of 90%or higher is reached, further assessments will be conducted. Please have available the child’s official record birth, immunization record, and social security number. Applications are encouraged to be turned in at the beginning of August.
NO applications will be accepted after the start of school. The district office will go through the evaluation process towards the end of August.
Garden Club
The Applegate School Garden Club & 4-10 Horticulture Club along with the Applegate Valley Garden Club ladies, landscaped the pond here at school. It was a lot of work and there is still more to do.
The pond is looking beautiful! The fish received a new rock to hide under and our three frogs can be
heard most of the time.Thank you to all that helped that day!
New additions to the pond landscape are:
A Bench in Mark Winninghams memory was hand made and donated by Murray Crowe, Tuffy Decker and The Hogan family.
The cedar fence along the walk way was donated and installed by Murray Crowe, Lumsden family, Wilma
Marcoulier, and the Soeteber family. The tree and rock that is on the top of the waterfall is in memory of Justin Debo.
A special thanks goes to the people that donated the plants to put around the pond- Ray and Peg Prag of Forest Farms in Williams.
Thanks to Ladies of the Applegate Garden Club, Dave at Green Leaf Nursery, Valley View Nursery, Walmart in Grants Pass, Grange Co-op in Medford, the gravel is from Copeland Sand and Gravel, the soil is from Bella Kalman and Mike Wise.
Sincerely Thanks to all!!!
(if anyone has materials to a drip irrigation system and would like to donate it to help water the plants around the pond during the summer.)
Also if you have child that would like to join the garden club to help with summer projects please call Pam Carter at-846-7393
Caution! Caution! Please take extra special care when entering the school grounds. There is going to be a gate at the entrance to the school (as you crest the top of the hill). Unfortunately, because of past vandalism, we had no choice in the decision to keep vehicles off the premises when school is not in session. We are sincerely sorry for the actions of a few that ruin it for everyone else. If for some reason you need to come up on school property after school hours you will need to park and walk up or call the school ahead of time to see if the gate can be unlocked. We will not unlock the gate for those who want to walk the track, use the tennis court, or just play on the playground. There is a set of stairs for your use to the side to enter the property.
Ink CartridgesOur office is still collecting old ink cartridges . Just send them in and we can recycle them for money for the school.
Notes! Notes! Notes! We are having a lot of kids that come in at the end of the day and do not know if they need to take the bus home or wait for a ride. Please send a note if they are not riding the school bus home as usual or waiting for you to pick them up as usual.
