Burn Report For: 8/4/2008 Applegate Fire District #9 Reports the Following:FIRE DANGER CLIMBS TO EXTREME Fire danger climbs to Extreme on Tuesday, August 5th on all forestlands protected by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry. The IFPL remains at a level 2. This declaration affects state, private, county and BLM forestlands in both Jackson and Josephine counties. ALL DEBRIS BURNING IS PROHIBITED, This includes using a burn barrel.
Fireworks are prohibited The following restrictions are prohibited between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm; Chain saw use is disallowed between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm. During other hours an ax, shovel and fire extinguisher must be on-site. Mowing in dry vegetation. Cutting grinding or welding metal. Burns reported on this page are compiled from two
sources. Applegate Fire Dist. 9 provides a report of burns on
federal lands as reported by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land
Management in the Applegate Valley area. This is taken from the daily Medford
Tanker Base report. The state's Smoke Management
Office report of burns on private, county, and state lands will also
appear on days when this office issues a report of burns planned on these
lands.
